A record number of radiology professionals attended ECR 2018 in Vienna, and participation in the ECR Online streaming platform also grew, according to an announcement from the European Society of Radiology (ESR).
The congress had 22,059 onsite attendees, which included 8,211 industry participants and 13,848 professional delegates (8% rise compared to ECR 2017). In addition, 6,415 registered viewers, who were not present onsite, watched the event on ECR Online, an increase of 13% compared with last year's conference. Overall attendance was 28,474, stated the ESR.
The organizers credited the growth to new session formats, scientific presentations, and the growing technical exhibition, with more than 300 companies showcasing their latest products and services.
ECR 2018's Cube also offered a series of dedicated workshops, interactive presentations, challenges, and quizzes led by international experts in the field of interventional radiology.
ECR 2019 will take place between 27 February and 3 March at the Austria Center in Vienna under the guidance of ESR President Dr. Lorenzo Derchi from Genoa, Italy.
