The European Society of Radiology (ESR) is highlighting a study produced by the European Cancer Organisation and released by the European Parliament regarding cancer in Europe. The ESR is a member of the European Cancer Organisation.
The study is called "Strengthening Europe in the Fight Against Cancer: Going Further, Faster," and it includes feedback from 61 experts. It addresses the following topics:
- Cancer causes and prevention
- Ways to detect and diagnose cancer earlier, including screening strategies
- Improving cancer treatment, care, and research in Europe
- Research progress requirements and opportunities for rare and childhood cancers
"The ESR believes that the study is a comprehensive and detailed source of information that will help policymakers formulate concrete plans to strengthen cancer care in Europe," the society said in a statement. "Therefore, we strongly encourage members of the European Parliament as well as national policymakers and cancer professionals to work in concert to implement the recommendations."
