Coventry University is trying to combat the radiographer shortage in the U.K. by offering a new diagnostic radiography degree course that offers a unique route into the profession.
The course gives students an opportunity to earn a three-year Bachelor of Science degree or a four-year integrated Master of Science degree with the final year studied at the master's level. The four-year master's program gives students the opportunity to further develop research skills and gain a Chartered Management Institute qualification, focusing on leadership.
The school has invested in a digital x-ray room, a mobile x-ray system, an ultrasound scanner, a dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry bone density scanner with an image reporting hub, and more. Siemens Healthineers has worked with Coventry to ensure the facilities replicate a hospital setting.
